As most of you know, today's the day of the year where we change the times on our clocks for no reason. Personally, I think that daylight savings may have made sense when it was first implemented, but it is useless now. So...
Four Reasons Why Daylight Savings Should Be Abolished
1. Daylight savings was originally implemented during World War I to reduce the need of artificial light and save energy. At this point in time, light is not the only type of electricity people use. We power televisions, computers, phones, and much more, and not matter what, people will be using electricity. Also, based on a study in Indiana, daylight savings actually increased the amount of every people used because they had their air conditioning on for a longer period of time. Overall, daylight savings is not saving energy.
2. Daylight saving is not implemented in Hawaii or Arizona, and both states are still looking great in my opinion.

3. Many health issues are associated with daylight savings. Based on recent studies, the amount of heart attacks spikes during the first week that the time changes. Daylight saving is also associated with sleep disorders and excessive confusion.
4. Daylight savings greatly harms peoples' sleeping patterns. Even if you gain an hour of sleep, your sleep pattern is still interrupted, and therefore you may be more tired despite that extra hour of sleep. On the other hand, you could lose an hour of sleep, which is also detrimental.
Even though the majority of the United States is against daylight savings, it is not likely that it will be abolished. Oh well.
